When?

Main Classes

Our main classes are held on Tuesday evenings in Kilmorack Hall from 7:30pm to 9:30pm from September through to May.

Scottish country dancing is a great way to keep your body and mind active and is good fun too!

All levels of dancers are welcome, although absolute beginners may wish to come along to our Learners Class (see below) at first.

It costs only £2 a night, including a cuppa and a biscuit.

Learners Classes

Beginners’ Boost & Learners’ Leg Up sessions

Beginners’ Boost & Learners’ Leg Up Sessions suitable for beginners & returning dancers on Wednesday evenings will not resume until later on in 2026.

In the meantime, new or returning dancers should use the contact email or phone details below, and will either be invited to come along to the main Tuesday night class or if more appropriate, put in touch with one of the other classes in the area.

Key Dates for 2025-26:

2025-26 Restart on 2nd September running through until 5th May.

St Andrew's Night on Tuesday 25th November 2025 (live music by Susie Simpson & Gillian Stevenson).

Last class before Christmas on 9th December. Class Christmas "Bring a dish" on 16th December.

The Kilmorack Rally will be on Friday 8th May 2026 at the Phipps Hall dancing to the Ewan Galloway Trio

In addition to our Tuesday classes, we hold social events throughout the year which are publicised in advance and are open to members of other classes and visitors to the area too.

We aim to have a social night approximately once a month, preferably on a Friday night during September to April, dancing to the recorded music of a different band each month.

Summer Socials will be held on Sat 6th of June dancing to Steven Carcary and Graham Bell, Sun 5th July (afternoon dance) dancing to Roy Hendrie and on Fr 28th August dancing to George Rennie.

The Highland Ball was held in March 2025 with many class members attending

75 years of the RSCDS in the Highlands was celebrated with a letter from the King and an event at the Town House put on by Highland Council.

The Kilmorack Class Spring Rally is an annual event held in May. This year, 2025, we were in the Phipps Hall which is a great venue. It was super to have a four-piece band too- Susie Simpson with Jock Fraser, GIllian Stevenson and Heather Donaldson.
